Frontier Chemistry Project

It is important to be able to identify plants and roots correctly as each plant is different and their chemical compound vary. Mistaking one plant for another would be hazardous and could endanger your life.
It is also necessary to understand a variety of species located in other regions when dealing with natural medicines and food as species intermingle and a vast quantity of plants could be at your disposal as long as you contain the knowledge necessary to use it.
Seasons play a major role in what plants are currently available at the time and it is necessary to know when plants are in effect and at what time they can be used for their specific medicinal purpose.
As a scientist, developing relationships with locals and learning about their habitat and plant life help improve your knowledge on that specific region and helps you understand the life there from a first-hand point of view.
If I were found without traditional medicines and only contained my current knowledge of local flora to treat illnesses and diseases, I would not fully trust my given knowledge as I don't have enough experience to be certain whether or not the plants are safe or hazardous, and one mistake could be fatal.
